BROOKLYN IMPROV TRAINING
We teach Ensemble Improv: the skills of spontaneously creating, as a group, a single piece of work.
Drawing from the wisdoms of Viola Spolin, Keith Johnstone, Del Close, and also from 15 years of improv teaching experience in NYC and beyond, LOM’s approach is experiential, on your feet, and full of joy. We will teach you how to let go of judgment, how to stay present, and many other practical strategies to create hilarious and delightful scene work with an ensemble of players. The Ensemble Playwright Lab (EPL) is a residency program in which the playwright engages with Letter of Marque's (LOM) ensemble to create, develop, or reimagine a piece of work; which will be presented to the public at the end of the residency.
There are two 6-week residencies: Fall & Winter. Two playwrights, one for each residency, are selected to work with our ensemble once a week, for a total of 21 hours of collaboration and discovery. Learn more about Ensemble Playwright Lab (EPL) Applications Open for 2018-2019 |

LIEUTENANTS LAB ENSEMBLE TRAINING
An invited training company of associate artists (the Lieutenants) committed to learning and expanding Letter of Marque's methodology and mission. Each Lab rehearsal is guided by one of the company's co-founders (the Captains) with the intent of building a larger LoM ensemble, exploring new ideas, sharing knowledge, and envisioning works to be presented at one of LoM's Swordraiser events.

MULTI PHASE PROJECTS
Our multi-phase projects allow us to develop work with an in-depth process. From an initial workshop, to an investigative retreat, a design and element phase before launching a full production of work. This allows cast and crew to delve deep into the source material before creating a highly evolved piece which speaks to our current issues and concerns.
